 Action Center

Action Center is a central location for managing system messages and diagnosing and solving issues with the system. It helps us to indicate the overall performance of our system. When the status of the monitored item changes, the Action Center notifies us with a message in the notification area in the Taskbar. The status of the item changes color to reflect the importance of the message. Action Center will recomend a set of actions and steps for us to perform to resolve the issue. These notifications can be turned off in the settings of Action Center.

The Action Center provides the following notifications:

  • Windows Update
  • Internet security settings
  • Network firewall
  • Spyware protection
  • User Account Control (UAC)
  • Windows Backup
  • Troubleshooting

Action Center relies on the Security Center service. It must be active and running.
